Life Goes On

A sad place to visit

An even sadder place to be

A lonesome walk

Through this cemetery

But the sun shines down

Across the land

And it gives me something

To understand

A soothing sound

In the tree above

The soft, mellow coo

Of the mourning dove

Flowers in bloom

In early spring

Their brilliant colours

Such a beautiful thing

Nature all around me

Still full of life

Make me forget

My pain and strife

It gives me hope

Because when I'm gone

For everything else
