Soliloquy

Tides seep forth into the sand

As you look on to new found land

Pools of rain wash hope away

Bringing forth another day

How is it that we trekked so far?

That we’re standing here where we now are?

In different directions we now steer

As winds drive back forgotten fear

And years from now you’ll see the truth

What remains of me and you

Erasing all that we now know

Marking paths where rivers flow

As days go by the time will seize

And on will grow this strange disease

It sucks away at all my will

When all is lost or standing still

Clouds obscure the light of Love

A lesson from the gods above

Rain now drowns the barren plain

To wash away enduring pain
